As a centre of excellence for maritime education and research, NCMPR promotes the highest practicable standards in maritime transportation, policy and administration, management, safety, security and environment protection, and provides a mechanism for the international exchange and transfer of knowledge and its applications.

NCMPR cares not only about the sustainability of transferred knowledge but also about the shaping of the future leading members of our country. The lack of qualified human resource is one of the challenges to be overcome. The pace of our effort to contribute new ideas, discoveries and innovations must not slacken.

NCMPR strives to maintain a balanced mix of academic and policy-oriented research. It takes a global perspective, emphasizing the coastal zones of Pakistan, landlocked countries, Europe and South Africa etc.
